The Old Chicago World Beer Tour
You have now entered the World Beer Tour zone. I know some of you are wondering what the World Beer Tour is. Well wonder no longer, I'm about to drop some science on everyone. Basically it is a tour at Old Chicago consisting of 110 different beers from all over the world. Each member gets a membership card that is scanned everytime they drink a beer at old chicago. Each beer has it's own number and once you get 110 different numbers on your card you have completed a tour and get your name on the Wall of Foam which is basically a plaque on the wall next to the bathrooms.

Right now I'm currently on my 4th tour at Old Chicago, as an up and coming pro drinker I am trying to move myself up the ranks as fast as possible. The 2006 season looks promising. I'm looking to move up quickly on the ladder board and get my name on the wall of foam a few more times. I'm looking to get to about the 7 tour mark by the end of the year. This will put me in good position to accomplish the much desired 10 tour completion mark in 2007. This will allow me to get my own personalized stein that will be hung above the bar.
Nick's Tips for Completing the tour
Completing the tour can sometimes beome stressful. There is no doubt that it is a grind. I've lost friends and even a relationship due to this restaraunt, but you just have to keep on keepin on. I will provide some tips free of charge to help reach your drinking goals on the tour..
- Sunday and Tuesday is $2 pint night. Tuesday night also offers $1 slices. Wednesday night is $1 off per beer for tour members. Thursday is bucket night.
- Try to go to Old Chicago on those nights. Crank out all of your drafts on Sunday and Tuesday. Drink your bottles on Wednesday and Thursday. This is the most economical way of doing it and can save you about $100 off of your total tour.
- Drink 4 beers per visit. Old Chicago will only allow you to put 4 beers on your card per night. It makes the most sense to put the max number of beers on there per visit. You will finish the tour quicker and it is more economical in the long run.
- Just go down the list. Don't hunt and peck when it comes to ordering your beer. Drinking the beers in the order on the menu is easiest and will give you a goal to accmplish, i.e. finishing all of the beers on one page.
- Always complete the mini tours. Not only do you get a t-shirt when you are finished but you can also get more beers on your card. Mini tour beers have a different numbering system than the normal beers. Doing the mini tour will help you squeeze out a few extra $2 pints
Shuffleboard
After a hard night on the tour I like to order a good desertif and head over to the shuffleboard table where I reign supreme. My teamate Mark Lucas and myself have only been beat once on the table at Old Chicago and it was a total fluke. I challenge anyone to come and play us, it will be a blood bath. You better bring your A game if you want to tangle on the table with us. We are the best there ever was, is, and will be. When it is all said and done I'm not sure if i will be better known for my accomplishments on the tour or on the shuffleboard table. I guess only history will tell.

Buzztime Trivia

If I'm not playing shuffleboard you can almost bet that you will find me playing Buzztime Trivia. Basically the way it works is everyone gets a playmaker which is show above. Questions are then displayed on television screens throughout the restaraunt. You get 5 answers to choose from and you can change your answer at anytime. The catch is that you start out with 1000 points and they rapidly decrease to 0. So it is in your best interest to answer the answer correctly as soon as possible. The game is very competitive and can make you snap like a twig. I have been known to drop multiple f-bombs after getting the wrong answer.
